Old Hollywood Boudoir

Back to the classics for this boudoir session! We got our model all glammed up with lashes and red lips. She had some gorgeous blonde hair extensions added, by Perfect Locks in Walnut Creek. This stylish leopard print bustier is held up by gold studded bra straps by Bra Serie. We finished this old Hollywood/golden era boudoir look with a fluffy peach robe, and some ruffly black bootie shorts. My studio in downtown Walnut Creek has a beautiful four poster bed with a net canopy. The lace pillows and comforter were the perfect backdrop for this shoot. The nudes, peaches, yellow and off white setting gave a vintage vibe. The gold framed vintage mirror was a great prop as well..

For the final edits i added some grain into the photos to give an older feel. to age them slightly more I added a golden/orange tint to the shadows.

This is just one of the many styles we can do with boudoir. Maybe you prefer something darker, moodier or more modern? Have you seen clean black and white boudoir? Shadow and light are key. We can be dramatic, such as in the last blog post- the client dressed up in a full wonder woman costume. Or, we can be super simple. One of my favorite sets is the gold satin sheets, and nothing else! Well, maybe some heels and/or sparkling ear rings. Red lips or neutral?

A simple bodysuit in the window is another favorite. Here we can get silhouettes, and brightly lit shots.

The ideas are endless… I will gather shots for the next blog and share some examples of some of these boudoir styles to help you decide what kind of shoot you want to do, what vibe you want for your boudoir session.
